“Ranyon” or not?👿 Cyberpunk 2077 I Walk The Line Walkthrough
Cyberpunk 2077 I Walk The Line is a main job rich with options. Should V side with the Voodoo Boys, or the Netwatch agent Bryce Mosley? How to take down the boss Matilda K. Ross in the Grand Imperial Mall? 🤔This post will take you through all the details of this intriguing mission!
Cyberpunk 2077 I Walk The Line Story Walkthrough
Cyberpunk 2077 I Walk The Line story starts with a call to Mr. Hands. As Takemura is working on Anders Hellman, V pursues other leads to remove the Relic. Mr. Hands contacts Voodoo Boys and they ask V to complete a mission as a condition to see Brigitte. However, Brigitte at this point doesn’t know this deal for V, because she is trapped in the net by the Netwatch agent, Bryce Mosley.

The start of the job is shady enough. V needs to meet with some random gang member in the church. That member will lead you to Placide. Finally, Placide will ask you to investigate a van in the Grand Imperial Mall.
The Animals guard the mall, and there is a large number of them. You can play it either discretely according to Placide’s request or kill your way in. Some Animals members will chat impatiently about when they can leave this place. Because it is not supposed to be their territory and they are only here to guard the van.
After connecting to the van, Placide will ask you to go to the cinema to find the agent. But once you enter the cinema, Mosley will block Placide’s signal to give you some time to negotiate with him. From that on, you can choose if you want to trust him or the Voodoo Boys.
Two Scenarios of I Walk the Line: Siding with VDBs or Bryce Mosley?
Just to remind you, no matter which one you side with, Johnny is gonna make fun of you… (“Can’t believe you buy this shit” blah blah blah…) And neither of them is trustworthy!😤
To lay the ground, before Mosley’s explanation, all Placide says is that you need to terminate the agent, that’s it. And there’s an unconscious woman lying on the chair at the back of his office. Mosley explains that he’s trying to protect the Blackwall and map out VDBs data fortress. (The subsequent job “Transmission” reveals that Brigitte, the netrunner of VDBs, plans to find Alt Cunningham from behind the Blackwall.) He manages to trap Brigitte (the unconscious woman in Placide’s office).
Trust Mosley:
Mosley will ask you to run a system check on yourself and tell you that your system is bugged by VDBs. As you are only a disposable tool for them, Placide intends to wipe you out once you complete the job. This is also the first time “Ranyon” is mentioned. V is nothing but a “ranyon” for VDBs, like a piece of shaggy rag. Mosley will take out the virus for you (and place a tracker in you secretly, which will take him to Alt Cunningham in “Transmission”.)
The Animals will become friendly when you head out the mall. And the weather, is extremely sunny and great! Placide will be very displeased and call you a “ranyon”.

Trust VDBs:
You will find yourself lying on the ground half dead. Mosley will be dead. Just like what Johnny says, Placide’s face is going to light up “like a Christmas tree” when he sees you. When you walk out, there won’t be any Animals and the sky is so grey and depressing.

To summarize, if you trust Mosley first and hear him out, so many things will make sense with what you learn from Mosley. Placide is indeed making use of you and trying to kill you with the virus. That’s why when you take down Mosley, you will be lying on the ground half dead. Placide doesn’t know Brigitte is planning to use the Relic to get to Alt Cunningham. He is also ignorant of V carrying the Relic implant. Anyways, if you don’t like Placide’s shady style, it doesn’t hurt to choose Mosley and listen to his stories.

How to Get to the Van Stealthily?
The van is located at the center part of the mall, where there are many escalaters and turrets. After going through the gate next to the fighting ring, it will be on the left side.
Hop onto the metal lion statue near the mall, you can bypass the Animals at the front of the garage. Keep going on the roof, then jump off and wait. The two scouting Animals will leave on motorcycle after a while. After entering the mall, keep to the left, then you can sneak all the way to the van.

The mall is quite crowded with Animals, so keep saving when you’re sneaking in, just in case you get spotted.
How to Take Down Matilda K. Rose in I Walk the Line job?
It’s annoying to have her keep hopping onto you and smashing you to the ground. Especially it’s gonna take you a while to stand back in Cyberpunk 2077.
Quick hack (cripple movement)+ Mantis Blade finisher is a great combo to nail her to the ground. Cripple movement can stop her from jumping on you with her huge hammer. Tier 5 cripple movement can also restore 5% health and 2 RAM after performing the finisher. So, it’s a great combo! If you are playing the normal difficulty, using the finisher three times should be enough to actually finish her.

Placide’s butcher shop 🐔
Placide will request you to meet him at a butcher shop not far away from the Chapel. The environment of the shop is generally gross. But you can see some genuine meat there, including a chicken being handled by Placide. It’s rare and surprising because the population of NC in Cyberpunk 2077 is basically sustained through syn-meat.

FAQs
Should you side with Netwatch or Voodoo?
Both sides are manipulating you and the choice doesn’t affect the main story. If you choose the Netwatch, Bryce Mosley will survive. Later in the “Transmission” job, Alt Cunningham will tell you that the Netwatch has found her through you. After Cunningham purges all the netrunners with Brigitte, you will need to kill Placide on your way out. If not, Mosley will be dead immediately after you take him down. But in “Transmission”, Cunningham won’t kill Brigitte and you can walk out of the Chapel in peace.
How to trigger I Walk the Line Cyberpunk 2077?
To trigger the job, you need to track the job in your journal. Mr. Hand will bridge between you and the VDBs. Later, they will ask you to come to the Chapel to finish a job for them before setting you a meeting with Brigitte.
Can I fight Placide?
Yes, you can. If you side with Mosley in “I Walk the Line”, later in the “Transmission” job, you will need to kill Placide when trying to get out of the Chapel.
Conclusion:
There are many options in the job that can lead you to slightly different results and conversations. But the main story is that both Mosley and VDBs are taking advantage of V. If you betray VDBs, in the next job they will all be wiped out. If you side with them, they will survive and you can walk out of the Chapel peacefully.
