What Is the Mission “Nocturne Op55N1” About?
To explain and get into the Cyberpunk 2077 devil ending, we need to start with the main job “Nocturne Op55N1”. Previously, V and Takemura have convinced Hanako of Yorinobu murdering Saburo Arasaka, and Hanako has decided to reach a deal with V at this point.
The mission will lead you to a hotel where Hanako will reach out to you and offer a deal to save your life. In return, she wants you to take care of Yorinobu and help her remove him as the CEO of Arasaka. At this point, Hanako does not explain all of her plan, which later reveals that her true agenda is to revive Saburo using Yorinobu’s body.
The end of this mission starts with your choice of the path you want to go down.

Last Caress
Upon getting on Hanako’s vehicle, the game will set you on the mission named “Last Caress”. In this mission, you need to be driven to Yorinobu’s mansion to rescue Hanako from her brother’s surveillance and control.
Prior to this mission, Yorinobu had detected that Hanako was doing something suspicious. In the hotel, Hanako hints at the suspicious AV outside the windows as well. That is why he puts Hanako under his eyes at this point.
After entering the estate, you can either be natural or act aggressively towards the guards. Either way, you need to neutralize the elite guards in the estate and help Hanako get on the AV to escape the estate.

Totalimmortal
The AV will take you to the Arasaka tower. Hanako did not reveal her entire plan before, and at this stage, her arrangement slowly unfolds before your eyes.
First thing to do is to meet Saburo Arasaka, who is an engram stored in the Arasaka relic system. Hanako’s plan is to use this preserved consciousness of Saburo to convince the board of Arasaka, so that they can vote Yorinobu out as the CEO. She understands that your words alone are not enough to convince the board, and she needs something more persuasive.
In the same room, you can ask Hanako to let you see Jackie Welles in the system as well. But this does not turn out as expected. Different from Saburo’s engram, Jackie’s consciousness is altered, and it seems like only the bright and frivolous side of the personality is preserved.
As the second step, Hanako will ask you to testify to what Yorinobu did to Saburo in front of the board. This does not go smoothly either. Halfway through the meeting, Yorinobu’s army barges in, and Hanako requires you to take Yorinobu to her.
Finally, you only need to defeat all the enemies in the building with Hanako’s squat and neutralize Adam Smasher.

Where Is My Mind?
You have finished your commitment to Hanako, and now it is her turn to remove the engram from you.
Passing out in the elevator, Hellman will take you directly to your procedure. At the same time, you will have one last chance to speak with Johnny Silverhand in your consciousness. Johnny is not happy about your choice and thinks that it is a shame that you have chosen the wrong destiny of being a nobody.
The next thing you know is when you are in Arasaka’s orbit station and doing tests. The doctors try to figure out how much you can function after the procedure. In between, you will have the chance to ring up your friends and lovers.
Sadly, Anders Hellman brings you bad news again, and the game takes you to the final choice. With the neural damage caused by the engram, you can choose either to enter Mikoshi and abandon your body, or to go back to earth and have the last 6 months of your life. Two choices have different ending cutscenes.
Choose to go into Mikoshi, and you will be taken to the procedure room, and the game will display the credits with your friends’ voice messages. If you want to go back to Earth, the cutscene will show you packing your things and leaving the orbit station.

What Happens to Johnny Silverhand in the Cyberpunk 2077 Devil Ending?
Since the start of the “Nocturne Op55N1” mission, Johnny has been expressing his doubts and suspicion over Hanako. Johnny tries to persuade V to leave the hotel and tell her that he can help V get to the Mikoshi machine together with Rogue.
The final deciding moment is when you are on the building top with Johnny after ringing up your friends. In the Cyberpunk 2077 devil ending, you will take the omega blockers and block Johnny from your head from this point on. Even later, when you kill Adam Smasher, Johnny will not appear.
As shown in the building top scene, Johnny is disappointed with how you trust Hanako over him and Rogue. The sense of betrayal and disappointment is only deepened at the procedure scene where you see Johnny for the last time.

Johnny believes that you have betrayed him and chosen the wrong end. V sides with the corporations and chooses to be a no one instead of having a more glorious ending. After that, Johnny, as an engram, is shredded by Arasaka.
Although you can disagree with him and end the final conversation over a disagreement, the tests happening in the orbital station testify that V actually subconsciously agrees with Johnny. The doctor asks V to say the first word that comes to mind after hearing the prompt. “Johnny” is always associated with words like loyalty, betrayal, and rebellion. And V also reacts to some prompts with words like “emptiness”, “unknown”, etc.

What Happens to Arasaka and Hanako in the Cyberpunk 2077 Devil Ending?
The scene in Arasaka Tower ends with Hanako holding Yorinobu in her arms. After taking down Adam Smasher, Yorinobu has lost control over Arasaka, and Hanako has taken the corporation over.
V gets to know what happens later to Arasaka and Hanako from the TV news of the orbital station. Hanako has resurrected Saburo by inserting his engram into Yorinobu’s body, and Saburo has regained control over Arasaka.
This action has stabilized Arasaka’s relationship with other major corporations and put a halt to the pending war. However, Saburo’s return has ignited protests and social unrest about how corporations can exploit people’s bodies as well. But as is always like in Night City, the protests of the normal people are unimportant. They cannot sway the dominating power of Arasaka and other corporations.
You have the option of calling Hanako up in the orbital station, but she will not pick up your call. The communication between you and her is conducted by Anders Hellman. He only appears later to give you the option of either joining Mikoshi or living the last 6 months of your life.
If you choose the go back to earth, Hanako will offer you to work for Arasaka for the last 6 months. Hanako only approaches you when she has more interest in exploiting you.

Conclusion
The devil tarot thoroughly interprets the meaning of the devil ending in the game. The ending brings the addiction and the craving for materialistic pursuits, at the cost of losing oneself to a world of distractions. The devil offers choices and options. One always needs to try out their luck to see if any of the choices bring a good ending.
In the devil ending, V has chosen to shake hands and reconcile with the corporations to save her life. This is at the cost of compromising the principles and betraying the values she and Johnny Silverhand have harbored so far. It is also a depressing ending as this is betraying Misty and Jackie’s death as well. The ending brings emptiness and a sense of loss to V.
On the bright side of it, in this ending, V gets to live out the last days with her body and soul completely to herself, or achieves immortality in Mikoshi.
