Don’t Starve Together: Spend the gaming time with your best friends

Let’s start our discussion of time-consuming games from this bizarre game. If you’re too stressed to play a survival game alone, try out Don’t Starve Together and play it with your friends. It is such a time-consuming game that you can play it in your own way and at your own pace.
As the main character in the game, your mission is to survive and try to escape this mysterious world.
Don’t Starve Together has a good combination of relaxed story progress and open-world exploration. Although it has a storyline, you can also ignore it for now and focus on building a little farm and exploring the world with your best mates.
To prevent players from getting bored of survival and exploration, the game adds in the change of seasons, weather, and all kinds of bosses and monsters. In my opinion, the game keeps you focused by giving you an appropriate amount of pressure in terms of surviving in the bizarre world.
Tropico 6: Vote for El Presidante!

If you can still use the toilet while waiting for the turns in Sid Meier’s Civilization vi, don’t expect this kind of toilet run in Tropico 6. Although you can choose to pause the game, sometimes the flow goes on so well that you forget or don’t want to stop at all.
Tropico 6 is a simulation game where you play the role of a president governing a small tropical island. You can build, govern, generate income from trading, and manage the citizens and foreign relationships. Put in simple terms, just imagine what you can do as a president and the game will not let you down. Every building has its features and functions in this small and isolated civilization. The buildings will also evolve as you enter different ages, such as mines and automated mines.
To make the game more interesting, you can try out ways to drive the economy: agriculture, processed goods, tourism, etc. Tobacco is not bad, but cigars can make more🚬 (if you can sign a beneficial trade contract with any other nation…)
In summary, Tropico 6 is a perfect simulation game to “waste” your time on, if you don’t mind the large amounts of details and panels involved in the gameplay.
The Sims 3: Live your dream life in the game

Related: more interesting The Sims 4 mods.
The Sims was updated to its fourth in 2014, but The Sims 3 remains my favorite because of its all-in-one map. In The Sims 3, you can design your own character, give them personalities, and live their lives. Somehow, life is more interesting when you can act like a god to control your sims and do whatever you want.
In The Sims 3, you can build on your career. To become a criminal, an actress, or just to sell vegetables to make a living, it’s all up to you. Unlike the reality, you can switch your career less painstakingly in the game! Other than that, you can also build your own house, go for a drink at the bar, or start a romantic relationship with as many sims as you want❤️.
The Sims 3 also consumes your time with its large amounts of expansion packs and mods. I think the travel packs of The Sims 3 are the real classic and nice additions to the original games. As you can imagine, players may get bored after living the day-to-day life in the original game. The World Adventures expansion pack brings you the refreshing experience of exploring China, Egypt, and France. At those locations, you can learn new skills, collect French wines, and even explore the Egypt tombs.
If you want to go for some relaxing time, The Sims 3 is really an excellent choice that you can’t miss.
Dishonored 1 & 2: How many ways are there to assassinate?

Time-consuming games also have their own unique ways of consuming your time! Some players enjoy winning the challenges and collecting all legendary items in RPGs. I prefer spending more time talking to NPCs, doing all side quests, and trying out ways to complete the missions. Another is that the games might offer a variety of ways for you to explore, like Dishonored 1 & 2.
Dishonored 1 came out in 2012, and the second one in 2016. They aren’t new or latest games. However, they stand out for their excellent stories, clear mission guidance, great map design, and variety of objectives.
Firstly, you can choose whether to use magic or not. With supernatural abilities, the players can unlock all kinds of cool features to deal with enemies. Blink, Devouring Swarm, Possession… These are only a few supernatural abilities that greatly satisfy your imagination of a steampunk world suffering the plague. Even without using the abilities, you can still find routes to stealth kill the targets, adding more fun to path seeking and map exploring.
Secondly, you might want to spend a large amount of time replaying the game. Because of the rich options in the game, the players just can’t help trying out different options. Moreover, different objectives in the mission will lead you to explore different parts of the map and other characters’ stories. In Dishonored 1 & 2, the options and objectives integrate excellently with the overall storytelling and map design.
Dishonored 1 &2 are perfect pastimes for players who want an immersive steampunk gameplay experience. If you are a fan of magic, steampunk, and cool mechanic gadgets, these two are the games you must try.
Cyberpunk 2077 (My favorite time-consuming game): “Let’s start at the rainbow”

Related: Explore more side gig stories here.
Cyberpunk 2077 impresses me with its comprehensive world settings and histories, and its side gigs closely linked to its world-build. The time-consuming part of the game is that you can’t help exploring more and more shards, conversations, and computer emails in the game to piece up the puzzle of the Night City.
In the game, you play the character V. V. got stuck with the Relic (an implant with the terrorist Johnny Silverhand’s psyche). The main job is to have to find a way to save yourself. However, the game goes deeper than a simple self-salvation quest. Cyberpunk 2077 delves into the depths of a dystopian society with mega-corporations, highly advanced technology, and badly exploited human beings, both bodily and mentally.
The game offers three storylines for you to start as a corpo, a street kid, or a nomad. During the gameplay, I also encourage you to spend more time on side gigs first. During the explorations, you will learn more and more about this dystopian world and the stories of the common folk in the Night City. For example, if you talk to a clothing store owner, he will tell you that he lost his job to AI in clothes designing.
In summary, Cyberpunk 2077 can give you an unforgettable story, but you need to spend time to piece up the story yourself. I think that’s the best part of an open-world game.
Conclusion: cheers to the best time-consuming games
A great video game is no less than a great movie, or an excellent book. Good time-consuming games tell you stories that may sarcastically reflect our real-world problems. About that, I’d like to end this post with one interesting quote from Tropico 6. “Corruption is so rife governor that I have to pay a bribe to know how much to pay In bribes!”
