How Many Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty Endings Are There?
Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty Endings feature four DLC endings and one new base game ending. Based on whether the players have unlocked the specific DLC endings, the game will decide if the players can proceed to the new ending in the base game.
This interconnection between the DLC endings and the new base game ending exists due to the storyline need, because V will need NUSA’s help to be treated with the neural matrix in Langley.

Options triggering different endings revolve around V’s choice of whether to side with Songbird or Reed. Different branches of the story will reveal different parts of the major characters’ lives. Going through all the endings can offer a more complete picture of Songbird, Reed, and Rosalind Myers.
The four DLC endings are
- King of Pentacles: Refuse Songbird’s request.
- King of Cups: Fulfill Songbird’s request.
- King of Wands: Take Songbird to the stars.
- King of Swords: Take Songbird home.
The new base game ending is The Tower (complete “Things Done Changed”).

BETRAY SONGBIRD | One more second…
to get into the storyline of King of Pentacles and King of Cups.
Later at the Cynosure Facility core, players need to choose
That’s not a solution!
In the following conversation, choose

What Happens in this Ending?
In “Firestarter,” Songbird runs away, half-turning into a cyberpsycho because of the corruption of the Blackwall. V rescues Songbird with Reed and gets into an abandoned Cynosure Facility to track down Songbird.
Songbird will inform V, though, that it is too late for her to cure herself of the Blackwall corrosion using the neural matrix. Songbird will ask V to kill her in order to avoid being imprisoned by NUSA and President Myers. Returning to NUSA is a fate worse than death for Songbird because it entails imprisonment.

Songbird, Reed, and V will make the remaining trip to the president. Reed promises to get in touch with V regarding the neural matrix treatment, and NUSA will take over Songbird’s recuperation.
(Unlock The Tower ending) In the end, President Myers will deliver on her promise and reward V with the cure from the neural matrix. Songbird will survive, too, according to what Myers tells Reed. They have found other cures to handle Songbird’s condition.

What are the Pros and Cons of this Ending?
Storyline: The brightest side of this storyline is that all the major characters, including V, can survive till the end. Despite accusing Songbird of treason and imprisoning her, President Myers will keep her alive. Myers will also arrange for Reed to turn to deskwork. The neural matrix can cure V and remove Johnny permanently.
However, the downside of this ending is that Songbird will be facing charges and lifetime imprisonment. Reed will be sidelined by the government as well. V, despite surviving the rest of her life, cannot plug into any chrome or implant anymore, and at the same time, loses almost all her friends during the two-year coma. Johnny is wiped out, sacrificing himself for V.

Level design: The stage design of this storyline is more diverse. First, there is a boss fight with Kurt Hansen. Second, V and Reed will arrange the hijacking of Songbird’s transportation, which includes three bosses at the end of the fight. Third, V will enter Cynosure and find her way to the core. This process involves finding routes, shutting down servers, and, most importantly, avoiding Cerberus, a deadly robot, without the help of any weapons or HUD. The latter part of the gameplay almost turns into a horror game.
Rewards:
- Unlock the pathway to the new base game ending.
- V can loot three iconic weapons from Hansen‘s body.
- President Myers will award V a medal.
- Players can find the Blackwall Gateway Quickhack and the Erebus weapon schematic in Cynosure and later craft one of the two into use.

King of Cups: Betray Songbird and Fulfill Her Request
In order to initiate this conclusion in the “Firestarter” mission, players must select
BETRAY SONGBIRD | One more second…
to begin the King of Pentacles and King of Cups storyline.
Later at the Cynosure Facility core, players need to choose
End So Mi | OK. I’ll do it.

What Happens in this Ending?
In this Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty ending, V grants Songbird’s wish and ends her life at Cynosure Facility. V and Reed take her body back to Rosalind Myers. Both Reed and Myers are unhappy about V’s decision.
Reed regrets leaving Songbird to V and thinks that he could have changed her mind. Myers will not deliver on her promise to V about saving her life because V does not deliver Songbird alive.
In sum, although in this ending, Songbird can be free from the later imprisonment, V has to take the blame for many other characters’ regrets.

What are the Pros and Cons of this Ending?
Storyline: The good side of the story is that Songbird can have the freedom she wants, albeit it is too late for her to enjoy it during her lifetime. Judging from Songbird’s last words, freedom in death, at least, is a better ending for her than being imprisoned in Myers’ hands. V’s conscience can be at ease when opting not to hand Songbird to NUSA.
The dark side is that V has become the person whom Reed, Myers, and Johnny blame for Songbird’s death. After all the trouble, V cannot get her cure.
All in all, the storyline of betraying Songbird will reveal more about Songbird’s life and work to players, including her life in Brooklin, Reed recruiting her, and how she loses her memory.
Level design: The level design and the gameplay are the same as the King of Pentacles ending.
Rewards:
- V can loot three iconic weapons from Hansen‘s body.
- President Myers will award V $5000.
- Players can find the Blackwall Gateway Quickhack and the Erebus weapon schematic in Cynosure and later craft one of the two into use.

King of Wands: Betray Reed and Send Songbird to the Space
To start the storyline of King of Wands and King of Swords, in “Firestarters“, players need to choose
Betray Reed | I’m with you.
Later at the space port, players need to stick to the plan of sending Songbird to space, not handing her to Reed.
At the end of the train ride, choose
Pick up Songbird | Wake the hell up.
Players can talk more with Reed when confronting him in front of the space shuttle, but at the end, remember to choose
Draw weapon | Enough o’ this. (Or other options which allow V to draw weapon.)

What Happens in this Ending?
V decides to side with Songbird and escapes the stadium without uploading the ICE breaker to Songbird’s system. Songbird’s condition is still deteriorating, but she is not turning into a cyberpsycho like in the King of Pentacles and King of Cups.
Songbird contacts V once she has arranged the trip to space. V arrives at NCX Spaceport and tries to reach the terminal with Songbird together.
Reed operates the NUSA military team blasting their way into the Spaceport, which is a neutral zone, and hunts down V and Songbird, dead or alive, under Rosalind Myers’ order.
Songbird confesses that there is only one dose of the neural matrix, and she lies to V about saving V’s life. Despite Songbird’s betrayal, V still determines to send her to space and shoots Reed in the head. At the end, V goes through all the trouble only to find that there is no other solution for her dying condition at all.

What are the Pros and Cons of this Ending?
Storyline: Songbird can finally be freed, in every sense. She will be cured and free from NUSA’s control. Johnny will be happy, too, for saving Songbird’s life, although that means that he and V need to find other ways to save their lives. Alex also survives this ending, and she will contact V later for a catch-up.
However, V will kill Reed in this ending and turn against NUSA completely. This means that V cannot secure the cure from either NUSA or Songbird. Without reaching The Tower ending of the Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty ending, it means that V will die in the end.
Level design: The level and gameplay design of this ending are more consistent with the rest of Cyberpunk 2077’s main jobs. It requires mostly forcing your way through swarms of enemies and killer robots. The coolest part is that when reaching to the train, players can access Songbird’s blackwall quickhack and use it to eliminate enemies instantly.
Compared to the storyline of betraying Songbird, this ending and King of Swords can save players a lot of trouble. There will not be any boss fight against Kurt Hansen. There is no major boss at NCX Spaceport either. All players need to do is focus on eliminating an overwhelming number of enemies from NUSA.
Rewards:
- Collect Reed’s iconic gun Pariah, after killing him.
- A quantum tuner cyberware and a metal pin, when reaching the coordinate specified by Songbird, later from her message.
- Easter egg: a video left by Songbird. Return to the location of Songbird’s van in the alley where she first picks up V after finishing this ending.

King of Swords: Betray Reed and Hand Songbird over to NUSA
To enter the storyline of King of Swords, in “Firestarters“, players need to choose
Betray Reed | I’m with you.
The turning point comes when Songbird confesses to V that the neural matrix can only be used once. She has been lying about saving V’s life. Because she passes out afterwards, V can choose to strike a deal with Reed and secure the neural matrix for herself.
When V is in the train in “The Killing Moon“, players can choose
Call Reed | Reed’ll take care of you.
And then
Deal.
This will seal the deal with Reed, and he will take over at the corridor.
Missing the choice on the train is okay. Later, when confronting Reed, V can still choose to “holster weapon” and strike a deal with Reed.

What Happens in this Ending?
V infiltrates NCX Spaceport with Songbird, hoping to send Songbird into space and find the cure for both of them. However, Rosalind Myers and Reed track them down and surround the spaceport with NUSA soldiers.
V and Songbird have learnt Myers’ orders to the army and Reed at the platform. Myers wants Songbird, dead or alive, and Reed does not counter Myers’ orders. V and Songbird manage to reach the terminal, call for the train, and finally arrive at the spaceship.
However, Songbird reveals to V on the train that there is only one dose of the cure, and she decides to keep that for herself. V is betrayed and left with no choice but to strike a deal with Reed at the last minute after Songbird passes out. Reed promises to save Songbird and gives the cure to V.

What are the Pros and Cons of this Ending?
Storyline: Everyone survives in this ending of the Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty endings: V, Reed, Songbird, and Alex. It seems to be the very happy ending of the game. V will be cured permanently because King of Swords, similar to King of Pentacles, will unlock The Tower ending of the base game.
From this storyline, V can also pick up more information about Reed and Myers as well, by overhearing the conversations.
The downside of this ending is that Songbird will lose her freedom, albeit she deserves it for betraying everyone. Johnny will be completely erased in The Tower ending.
Level design: The level design and the gameplay are the same as the King of Wands ending.
Rewards:
- Unlock The Tower ending and cure V permanently.
