In sum, there are seven endings in Cyberpunk 2077. However, not every ending has the corresponding achievement. The base game has six endings, and the DLC Phantom Liberty has added a new ending to the base game, provided that players have reached the DLC endings of King of Pentacles or King of Swords.

All the endings of Cyberpunk 2077 are listed below

How to Get This Ending

The Tower ending is the newly added ending to the base game after the release of Phantom Liberty. Phantom Liberty is the DLC featuring 4 different endings in total, and two of its endings can unlock The Tower ending option in the base game. Players need to reach the King of Pentacles or King of Swords ending and do not reject either Myers’s or Reed’s help.

What Makes This Ending the Cyberpunk 2077 Best Ending?

The Tower ending can be viewed as a Cyberpunk 2077 best ending in many ways. The reasons are listed below:

  1. V has survived and can live on.
  2. Most of the characters in the DLC and the base game survive in this ending, except that Alex will be dead in King of Pentacles storyline.
  3. Another thing is that players do not need to force their way down the Arasaka Tower and face Adam Smasher, making the game easier.
  4. In King of Pentacles storyline, players can get many rewards, such as the President’s medal, Hansen’s iconic weapons, and the Blackwall Gateway Quickhack (or Erebus weapon).

The paramount reason for choosing this ending is that this is the only ending in which V can survive. In all the other endings, V either needs to enter cyberspace or retain her body with only 6 months left.

As explained by Alt, the Relic has already corrupted and altered her body to prepare for Johnny Silverhand’s soul instead. The removal of Silverhand will cause V’s autoimmune system to attack her brain neurons. However, in The Tower ending, the Militech innovation, the neural matrix, is designed to counter the effects of The Relic. Due to this setting, V can survive in the end without the help from Arasaka Mikoshi and Alt.

What Makes This Ending the Cyberpunk 2077 Best Ending?

To be considered as the Cyberpunk 2077 best ending, The Star supersedes other endings in terms of the people, mainly referring to the Aldecaldos, in this ending. The irreplaceable warmth and friendship from Panam and her people certainly win hearts. Further reasons for choosing this ending are listed below:

  1. This ending is like an extended storyline with Panam and the Aldecaldos. They will welcome V as one of their family. Talking with the characters in the clan is a pleasure.
  2. The gameplay experience is more diverse and includes riding the Basilisk, going through the tunnel, and confronting Adam Smasher with Panam.

Eventually, V and Panam will leave Night City with the Aldecaldos, starting a new life down south. The new life with a family promises a brand new beginning, leaving everything behind. Another symbol of letting go of the past is V dropping the pendant at the lake.

How to Get This Ending

Players can achieve The Sun ending in two ways: asking Rogue for help or storming Arasaka Tower with Johnny. However, the latter option is from the secret ending “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper.”

By choosing the option of mending Johnny and Rogue’s relationship at the oilfield in “Chippin’ In,” players will unlock the mission “Blistering Love.” Finishing “Blistering Love” will make the option of asking Rogue for help available.

Whether players can unlock the secret endings or not depends on their dialogue choices at the oilfield in “Chippin’ In.” The exact options for the secret ending are written in this post. After that, on the rooftop, players need to wait about 5 minutes without choosing any options. Later, Johnny will suggest asking for no one’s help and storming Arasaka Tower together with V.

What Makes This Ending the Cyberpunk 2077 Best Ending?

This ending is like the very opposite of The Tower ending, and the two endings echo the famous quote in Night City.

Will you choose to become a legend or a nobody?

Contrary to The Tower ending, The Sun ending witnesses V becoming the Afterlife legend. No matter which pathway players go for (Rogue or Don’t Fear the Reaper), V will be able to unlock the mission “Path of Glory” and become the legend of the city.

More detailed reasons for choosing this ending are listed below

  1. V will become the legend of the city, which is the most glorious ending in Cyberpunk 2077.
  2. The storyline temporarily allows access to V’s penthouse.
  3. The friends will call in and congratulate V on her achievement.
  4. Ask Rogue for Help: This pathway echoes the attack on Arasaka Tower 50 years ago and fulfills Johnny’s and Rogue’s wishes.
  5. (Don’t Fear) The Reaper: No one will be sacrificed in this pathway.

FAQs

Can V and Johnny both live?

V and Johnny cannot coexist in V’s body in the end. However, choosing to allow V or Johnny to go with Alt may be deemed as a way to keep their consciousness from being erased completely. In The Sun, The Star, Temperance endings, Johnny or V will enter the cyberspace with Alt. Other endings will wipe away Johnny’s consciousness forever.

Which ending does V survive in Cyberpunk?

V only survives in The Tower ending. The neural matrix from Militech can wipe Johnny away and restore her body. However, she will not be able to use any implants or plug-ins anymore, resulting in her turning into a normal person in Night City. She will need to seek another path to continue her life. Other endings only leave V with 6 months to live, or ask V to go into Cyberspace either through Mikoshi or Alt.

Does V have a happy ending in Cyberpunk?

There is no perfect happy ending in Cyberpunk for V. V cannot continue her life in all the base game endings, and she will lose her past life and abilities as a merc for choosing the DLC ending. The latter choice basically means cut off all possibilities of becoming a legend ever again. The bright side of V’s ending is that she can either enjoy the last 6 months of her life or enter Cyberspace and earn eternal life.

Conclusion: Cyberpunk 2077 Best Ending

While there is no perfect happy ending in the game, players can still opt for the Cyberpunk 2077 best ending in their hearts. Each ending has its pros and cons, gains and sacrifices. The good thing is that the game can return to “The Point of No Return” quickly after the credits roll for each ending, convenient for players to try out other endings and return to the previous life before the endings.

Instead of sticking to only one ending, players can try out other endings because the story varies and the detailed narration of each character is different. Going through all the endings will provide a more complete picture of characters like Johnny, Panam, Rogue, etc., and the Cyberpunk world.
