Sultan’s Game Troops Pt. 2: How to Gather Troops & Defeat Sultan’s Army Overwhelmingly!
In Sultan’s Game, troops are helpful and sometimes indispensable for specific events. In rebellion ending and godslaying ending, players need troops to start the final rebellion and to meet the god’s descending requirements. Therefore, it is always recommended to have 1 – 2 troops in the pocket. Some troops join the team directly, while others can only join after players have taken certain routes to the ending. Following the Sultan’s Game Troops Pt. 1, the post continues to introduce other troops, including Roaming Swordsman’s Highland Foot Soldiers & Calvary, Alim’s Followers, Aziz’s Babarian Warband, Habunah’s Blue Turban Army.

Restore the Starlit Land with Roaming Swordsman: Highland Foot Soldiers & Highland Calvary
In order to acquire the Sultan’s Game troops from Roaming Swordsman, Shirshana, players need to complete Shirshana’s storyline and rebel using the Testaments to Bygone Oath in Change of Dynasty. If players plan to rebel via this route in the first place, the bright side is that Shirshana’s route guarantees the Highland Foot Soldiers and Highland Calvary to join the team.
Chiefly, there are 5 steps that players need to finish in order to get the troops:
- Recruit Roaming Swordsman
- Recruit Alim & Lumera
- Explore Shirshana’s homeland and identity, and level up the Testaments to Bygone Oath
- Start the Change of Dynasty event (Highland Foot Soldiers and Highland Calvary join after this event)

Take Care of the Dark Street Urchins: Alim’s Followers
Alim’s Followers, the urchins in the dark street that he has been taking care of, join the team as long as the 2 conditions are met:
- Alim needs to become a follower.
- Purchase from The Fence at least 20 times.
In order to recruit Alim, players need to finish the event Thief’s Apprentice and settle down the Street Urchins to Alim’s satisfaction.

Players have to activate Old Habits Die Hard in Fate’s Ledger so that the purchase from The Fence is enabled. Then, when starting the game, The Fence, as an event, shows up near the dark street location. Then, players need to send 1 follower with 5 coins to purchase items from The Fence.
Once Alim becomes a follower and Arzu purchases from The Fence 20 times, the following event pops up:
- Dog Den: Send Alim and another follower with 1 feast or 10 coins. In the end, Alim entrusts the kids to Arzu, and the troop, Alim’s Followers, joins the team directly.

Unveil the Past of the Sands: Aziz’s Babarian Warband
Aziz’s storyline promises 1 Sultan’s Game troop, Barbarian Warband. To recruit this troop, players need to follow the plot and unveil Aziz’s real identity as the heir of a distant clan, which was conquered by the Sultan.
Other than completing the events, players need to make sure not to convert Aziz to be a cultist, as well as keeping Inal alive, refraining from using Sultan’s cards on Inal, or in Day of Charity.

There is a series of events related to Aziz leading to the recruitment:
- Day of Charity: Donate 5 coins and do not use any Sultan card in this event.
- Drag Aziz to Methinks after Renown reaches 5. Choose any of the 2 options
- Drag Aziz to Methinks after Renown reaches 9. Choose any of the 3 options.
- Drag Aziz to Methinks after Renown reaches 16.
- The Sands of Time: Place Aziz in the event with a rebellion conviction.
- When the feast hosting text pops up, choose “Join the feast with me” or “Call all the servants.”
- The Master’s Feast (If choosing “Join the feast with me”): Invite Aziz to the feast.
- The Feast for Everyone (If choosing “Call all the servants”): Let Arzu, Aziz, and 3 other followers enjoy the feast together.
- Drag Aziz to Methinks after Notoriety reaches 20. Aziz gives Fine Camel Bone Flute and forms the Bond of Fate directly.
- Blow the Bone Flute: Drag the Flute to Methinks. Place the Flute in with 8 coins to recruit the Babarian Warband.

The Rage of the Commoners: Nabhani & Habunah’s Blue Turban Army
This army needs to be unlocked through Nabhani’s storyline before Riel burns down the slave market (30 days into the game). It seems to be incompatible with other plots like removing Nabhani’s Sultan’s Champion tag and recruiting Riel.
Moreover, the Blue Turban Army does not join until after the rebellion event, Sultan’s Walls, similar to The Gardeners. In this case, players cannot use this troop to pass the check in The Dawn Rally.

All in all, the following are the events leading to the Blue Turban Army:
- House of Delights: Firstly, break an Extravagance or Carnality card here.
- An Interesting Incident: Welcome Nabhani with Maggie or Arzu.
- Unreliable Ally: Ask Nabhani to help break an Extravagance card.
- Exhibition of Flesh: Purchase the female craftsman slave.
- Summon Nabhani back to the team and drag him into Methinks.
- Minor Trouble: Send a noble or a commoner follower to pass the sociability ≥ 3, combat ≥ 3 checks. If Influence ≥ 10, a noble follower can skip the checks. If Notoriety ≥ 10, a commoner follower can skip the checks.
- Freedom in Flames: Send 2 followers to pass the physique & survival ≥ 5 check. Do not send Nabhani.
- What You Can Do: Send any 3 female followers or Nabhani with 2 other female followers to comfort Habunah.
- Weaving Classroom: Habunah needs 1 follower with wisdom ≥ 4 to help her with the class.
- Blue Scarf (Finish Weaving Classroom event 3 times): Send Arzu with a rebellion conviction. The Blue Turban Army will join the rebellion battle after Sultan’s Walls.

Conclusion: Sultan’s Game Troops Pt. 2
In sum, this post explains how to obtain troops from Roaming Swordsman’s, Alim’s, Aziz’s, and Habunah’s story plots. Among these Sultan’s Game troops, Alim’s Followers and Aziz’s Babarian Warband seem to be better options, because these two troops join the team directly as soon as the conditions are met, as conveniently as Marauder’s Band and Fardak’s troops. For other troops, they either only work after the rebellion starts or during the rebellion, making them useless for other normal events, generally speaking. Players should decide which troops fit the purpose well and the difficulty of obtaining them, because it would be a rather frustrating experience in acquiring a troop that does not satisfy the current urgent need.
