Sultan’s Game Update Asal: Bookstore Owner’s Scheme for Arzu, Lumera, and Nawfal

In the Sultan’s Game update, Asal features three new storylines related to Arzu, Lumera, and Nawfal. Similar to Samir, Asal does not have any personal stories before the 11th November 2025 update. But now, players can explore three storylines with Asal, after his bookstore is closed, and even recruit Asal as a follower. Honestly speaking, Asal’s storyline bears closer relations to other characters. If you are not very interested in how Samir’s story goes, you may be more curious about Asal’s story. Here is the complete guide on how to unlock all of them!

Story 1: “The Conjuring” and Encyclopedia

The first Sultan’s Game update Asal storyline, is related to the Lord of Revel, a demon hidden in the book Ambiguities, as well as the compilation of the Encyclopedia. Similar to Samir and the Medical Codex, Asal also has his lifetime pursuit of drafting for the Encyclopedia, which is a mission from Asal’s family line. Poor Arzu, on the other hand, is tricked by Asal to read the demon’s book, Ambiguities. Asal wants to include the knowledge from this book in the Encyclopedia. The rule goes that the compiler can only include the knowledge that is experienced firsthand in the Encyclopedia.

This storyline is a bit buggy. The following instructions explain how to bypass these bugs.

1. Buy or borrow all the books from Asal’s bookstore, and have Insights ≥ 5.
2. The Bookstore Owner’s Visit: Pay 5 coins for the book.
3. Ambiguities: Drag the book to Methinks, and have Arzu (not twin Arzu) read it.
4. Midnight Banquet: This event should show up automatically 3 days after reading Ambiguities. Make sure that both Asal and Arzu are not sucked into any events exactly 3 days after reading, or this event can’t be triggered again.
5. Strange Rumors: This event happens after reading as well. Send a follower to pass the check of wisdom + sociability + Notoriety ≥ 5.
6. Mortal’s Research: Send a follower whose wisdom + magic ≥ 10 to assist Asal in finding to way to fight the Lord of Revel. Asal will then give you a book called Roll of the Mortal. (Turns out just need to read the names, like in The Conjuring…)
7. Even Stranger Rumors: Send a follower to pass the check of charisma + sociability + Notoriety ≥ 5.
8. Midnight Banquet: Players can put in Roll of the Mortal, and then send a follower to assist with the check of charisma + magic ≥ 3. Without Roll of the Mortal, the check is ≥ 8.
9. The Whole Story: No need to do anything. Asal will become a follower.
10. Encyclopedia: Make sure that 3 days after the Midnight Banquet, both Arzu and Asal are available, not in any event! Otherwise, this pop-up window will bug again. This regular event stays at the very bottom left corner of the map. Drag the map to find this event’s location! It allows you to put in things that have significant importance. The compilation will be ongoing until you fill in all the slots.

Story 2: Earn Royalty From Orphan’s Revenge and Fund Publishing

The second storyline is related to Lumera’s revenge branch. The first event is triggered as soon as players finish Lumera’s revenge branch, obtain her book, and Asal closes his bookstore. Here is the guide on how to complete Lumera’s storyline.

1. When Asal visits Arzu and asks about whether to publish or not, you can choose to ask Lumera’s opinion.
2. The Birth of A Book: Pay 5 coins to fund the publishing.
3. Support the Official Release: Asal will give Arzu the earnings of 3 coins and inform him that the market is flooded with pirated versions. The follower needs to pass the check of combat + physique ≥ 1/ stealth + survival ≥ 1/ sociability + charisma ≥ 1/ sociability + wisdom ≥ 5, depending on the Notoriety, Infamy, and Influence points.
4. Perhaps You Should Share It With Her: Choose to share 1 or 3 coins with Lumera after getting the 3 coins royalty from Asal again.
5. Patron of Stories: Lumera decides to use the royalties to sponsor more books. Players can give her 3 coins to continue. There are ten books in total that players can get from this event.

Story 3: Nawfal’s Book Collections

The third storyline is that Asal is interested in a book that is in Nawfal’s collection. Asal naturally comes up to Arzu because of Arzu’s relationship with Nawfal.

Before proceeding further, players can only start this storyline on three conditions: Firstly, obtaining the Secret Oath tag with Nawfal; Secondly, waiting after Asal closed his bookstore; Thirdly, Arzu has Influence ≥ 10.

1. Asal will come up to Arzu, stating that he is curious to visit Nawfal’s book vault as an avid reader and collector.
2. The Calling Card: Players can give Hidden Among the Many together with another silver-tier book to skip the check. If Arzu only gives Nawfal one book, he needs to pass the check of sociability + wisdom ≥ 5.
3. The Vault: Upon entering Nawfal’s book vault, Arzu needs to pass the check of stealth + survival ≥ 3 to notice that something is wrong with Asal.
4. The Copiest: Choosing to stop Asal leads to this event. Players can also choose to pretend not to notice anything. Both options can work to get the final reward.
5. Errant Thoughts: The end of this series of events gives Arzu the final reward – Errant Thoughts, and one Freedom From Fear later.

Is Sultan’s Game Update Asal Storyline Rewarding?

As Asal’s storylines extend Lumera’s story and Nawfal’s story, players can explore these three new plots if they are interested in Lumera’s and Nawfal’s profiles. It has no doubt further completed the original Lumera’s and Nawfal’s plots. Moreover, by completing the first storyline, players can recruit Asal as a follower.

The most rewarding part of Asal’s storyline is the 3 coin royalty for Arzu and Lumera from time to time, and the new books that are great for improving followers’ attributes from the book publishing. Because in Sultan’s Game, while players can use equipment to stack up the followers’ attributes, some events require followers to reach the attribute requirements without the equipment… Therefore, books are quite important in this game. All in all, Asal’s storylines are a nice plus, but they are not as rewarding as Jenna’s or Bharat’s storylines, and not as interesting as Raed’s true and false princess plots.
