Therefore, Sultan’s Game escape route is, relatively speaking, an easier ending for newbies to achieve in the game. But does this route lead to good endings? How to Have the Escape Route Available?
Sultan’s Game escape route is an event called “Escape from the Sultan’s Game”. After progressing the game for a while, there will be a pop-up window sharing Maggie’s thoughts on escaping the game. Maggie, as Arzu’s wife, is concerned about the danger and negative influence involved in the Sultan’s card game and suggests Arzu running away.
Players need to choose to accept the idea to make the escape route available. After accepting it, the event “Escape from the Sultan’s Game” will show up in the upper right corner of the map. The event will always stay there without a countdown, as long as players do not put in the destination card and the card for opening the gate.

Similar to the rebellion route, there is no precondition for unlocking the escape option, and no time limit for finishing the route either. Therefore, it would be easier for players who aim to win the game to accept the escape proposal from Maggie, no matter what. How to Look for the Escape Destinations?
There are two available destinations in Sultan’s Game escape endings: Distant Oasis and China. Distant Oasis is a silver-tier card, while China is a gold-tier card. Compared to the Distant Oasis, China as the destination can lead to better endings with more complete descriptions and characters’ endings.
Distant Oasis
Distant Oasis is obtained through a book called Behind the Yellow Sands. It is completely up to chance when players can obtain this book from the bookstore or the book hunt. Thus, players need to constantly send out characters to purchase books in order to get Behind the Yellow Sands one day.
After reading the book, the game opens up an event called “Boundless Sands”. Players need to have three followers to finish the adventure: one with at least 4 survival points, one with at least 4 combat points, and one with at least 4 wisdom points. The adventure costs 4 coins. Successful completion of the adventure will give players the card of Distant Oasis.

Players can obtain a China destination card by completing Minal’s story. Minal is an adventurer in Sultan’s court, and the game will unlock her story as the game progresses.
Players need to send out help for her adventure in the event called “Exploring the Unknown Oasis” and “Journey into the Unknown”. Without the players’ help, Minal will end up dead in her adventure. The first adventure gives players the charted oasis, and the second gives the prosperous city. Make sure not to use the conquest card on either of them when the Sultan discovers the lands.
At the end of losing the city to the Sultan, Minal will leave the Sultan and travel afar. Players need to sponsor her and later, pay the courier to receive Minal’s gift. She will send Arzu her regards from China, and unlock the China destination card for Sultan’s Game escape endings.

All in all, the discovery of the oasis is more up to chance, and Minal’s story may take a longer time to reach the final ending. Therefore, it is hard to tell which route is easier, but completing Minal’s story certainly bears more certainty in the progress. Players can keep buying books and help Minal’s adventures at the same time. The best case is that players can obtain both cards and try out both endings at the same time.
How to Open the City Wall?
There are two ways to open the city wall for Sultan’s Game escape endings as well. Players can choose to complete Sadani’s story to obtain Sadani’s Token or use Mahir to conduct research for either the big bomb or the spiral drill.
Sadani
To trigger Sadani’s storyline, Arzu needs to personally use the silver-tier carnality card in the grand game. This will lead to a series of events related to Sadani as follows:
- Proof of Valor: Defeat the beast and give the head to Sadani
- Sadani’s Visit: Choose to talk to her.
- Lip’s Sealed: Give Sadani’s Secret to her maid, promising to help her.
- Helping Sadani: Change the record for her either by bribing Lazag with 15 coins or by infiltrating the palace with stealth and wisdom points.
- True Reward: Try to gain Sadani’s support.
- Fornication: Kill Seliman (the father of Sadani’s child)
- The Final Madness: Give Sadani Seliman’s head, and she will give Arzu her token.
It is a long process to finish Sadani’s storyline, but it is quite convenient if players happen to have a silver-tier carnality card, and it does not require particularly high character stats for Arzu to pass the events. Players also have more control over this route compared to Mahir’s research.

Mahir
Mahir can also produce means of breaking through the city wall once she becomes a follower. There are two inventions that can help: the big bomb and the spiral drill. Players need to follow a series of events to unlock these two inventions by chance as well.
- Help Mahir with her “Project Investment” twice: One character with high wisdom and 5-10 coins every time.
- Take Mahir in as a follower when her event appears, and get two aether from her.
- Pull Mahir into “Methinks” to start the “Long-Term Research” and put aether at the aiding slot.
- There is a chance for Mahir to invent the big bomb or the spiral drill if the research is successful.
While it is not difficult to let Mahir become a follower, it is completely up to chance whether she can invent the big bomb or the spiral drill. Each research will take 7 days, and obtaining more aether will require many characters to take part in the “Stealing Sacred Blood” event. Thus, comparatively, Mahir’s research can be a good backup plan for opening the wall, because it may take much longer to invent the right items, and players have no control over what Mahir may invent every time from the research.

What to Prepare After Starting the Escape?
Starting the escape will trigger two events: one is the final ship, and the other is the preparation, where players can pack the characters they want and the money with them. At this stage, players need to focus on the preparation of each follower they want to bring.
Firstly, Arzu has to run away with at least one follower. Only followers who have the bond of fate trait can run away with Arzu (Maggie has this trait by default). To obtain the bond of fate, Arzu needs to complete the follower’s storyline and make the exact choices for that follower to have the bond of fate. Since Maggie has this trait already, players can escape with only Maggie and still win the game without completing the other followers’ storyline.

Players need to have high Renown, Influence, Notoriety, and Insight for the stats of these to change into cards to stall the Sultan from discovering the plan. Every 6 points in each of them will be converted into one card. Every follower player brings to escape will use up one cover card. When all the cover cards are run out, players need to use other followers to cover up.
In sum, to make the plan work, players need to go through the followers’ storylines if they decide to bring them. Arzu needs to have high Renown, Influence, Notoriety, and Insight points, depending on how many followers are coming together. Prepare other followers from the guesthouse as extra cover cards.

What Endings Are There for Sultan’s Game Escape Route?
There are two endings from the escape route, depending on the destinations that players choose. The two endings are Escape to China and Escape to Oasis. The endings of the stories are completely based on the endings of the followers that Arzu takes with him. Therefore, there is no ending story for the followers who are left behind.
The endings will have nuanced differences, too, when players bring different last Sultan cards with them. Halfway through the escape, the magician will stop Arzu and require him to use up the last Sultan card. For example, if it is a carnality card, players can use it either on Maggie or Arzu. However, Arzu will survive, but Maggie will be taken away by the magician forever. Thus, it would be better to have more followers who can solve the Sultan card. Worst-case scenario, players can use Arzu because he has higher stats and can usually survive.

On the other hand, players can try to slay the magician to avoid using the last Sultan card on any follower. To achieve this, one of the ways is to complete Zazie’s storyline and obtain the card called “Trapped Star”. In that case, Arzu can summon the star when confronting the magician and slay her instead of sacrificing followers or himself.
Although players can still win the game by bringing Maggie only and without killing the magician, completing other followers’ storylines and slaying the magician will change the ending story to a happier one with more characters’ endings unlocked.

Conclusion: Is Sultan’s Game Escape Route A Good Ending?
Compared to the rebellion route, the escape route is relatively short. This route does not have the extensive process of fighting and confronting the Sultan. The only obstacle is the confrontation with the magician and using up the last Sultan card.
However, the difficulty of obtaining a perfect ending through the escape route lies in slaying the magician and unlocking the bond of fate for the characters players want to bring with them. This requires more time and a lengthier process in gaming. Therefore, it is fair to say that it is not difficult to win the game through the escape, but difficult to achieve the happy ending for everyone. In conclusion, the escape route requires the minimum effort to figure out how to escape, but the maximum effort to dig deep enough into the game to obtain happy endings for Arzu’s followers.
