Graveyard Keeper 2 Dream Dust Recipe & Use: Easy Way to Make
Dream Dust is one of the first items that introduces the player to the alchemy system in Graveyard Keeper 2. Although the item may appear to be a quest item, it becomes important for both farming and Church development later in the game. This guide explains when and how to make Dream Dust, and when to use Dream Dust for the quest and for other purposes.
When and How to Make Dream Dust for Albert?
Dream Dust in Graveyard Keeper 2 becomes necessary relatively early because it forms part of the Plague Doctor’s questline and the main quest of talking to the Fairy.
The quest walkthrough is as listed below:
- After the player reaches the Abandoned Tower, Albert can be found there and eventually teaches the player about Dream Dust. The laboratory already contains the equipment needed to produce it, including a Laboratory I, Flask Shelf, Study Table, and some starting alchemy materials.
- The laboratory chest conveniently contains Water and Blood, which are also the easiest ingredients for the first Dream Dust. However, the player cannot simply place them into the Laboratory immediately. Both ingredients must first be studied at the Study Table so that their alchemy properties become available.
- The player needs to combine 1 Water, 1 Blood, and 1 Alchemy Flask at the Laboratory to make 1 Dream Dust.
- The player can then return to Albert and show him the finished powder. Albert will inform the player that to summon the Fairy, the player needs to talk to Gunter at the Port about the Comet’s Tail. And the player cannot do so without completing the first combat with Herbert.
This makes Dream Dust an important introduction to Graveyard Keeper 2’s alchemy system. The player needs to:
- research ingredients to understand their rune properties,
- and then combine them at the Laboratory according to the recipes.
(What the game does not mention is that the Science Points come from decomposing Clean Paper, Science Kit I, or Science Kit II at the Study Table.)

How to Make Dream Dust the Easy Way After the Quest?
The required rune combination for Dream Dust is 1 green rune and 1 blue rune. While following the first recipe, Water is easy to obtain, but the amount of Blood is limited by how many bodies the player can get each week.
The easiest method is therefore:
- to replace Blood with other more common materials, such as Seed Oil. Usually once the player starts to grow Wheat, there will be way too many supplies for Wheat Seeds to make Seed Oil after several harvests.
- to purchase the Alchemic Powder directly from the Apothecary: Each 1 green + 1 blue pile only costs 10 Copper.
(After finishing the first combat to liberate the Town, the player has the option to choose either to build the first Apothecary, Vegetable, or Tailor stand. Comparatively speaking, building the Apothecary first is more convenient because the Alchemic Powders can make crafting Fertilizers, potions needed for zombie making, much easier.)

Graveyard Keeper 2 Dream Dust for Crop Boosting Fertilizer
A useful later application for Dream Dust is Crop Boosting Fertilizer.
The recipe requires:
- 2 Peat
- 1 Dream Dust
The fertilizer is produced at the Formulation Bench and adds two additional Growth Ticks to a crop. This makes it particularly useful when the player is trying to produce more crops and work toward higher-quality seeds.

Graveyard Keeper 2 Dream Dust for Fancy Incense
Dream Dust is also in the recipe for making Fancy Incense. While Church Smell I only gives +1 to the Church score, Church Smell II with the Fancy Incense gives +5 to each installment.
Fancy Incense requires:
- 1 Melted Fat
- 1 Fragrance
- 1 Dream Dust

Is Dream Dust Worth Stockpiling?
There is certainly no need to stockpile Dream Dust.
- First, Dream Dust is fairly easy to make (especially with the Apothecary Stall unlocked).
- Second, only a limited number of Garden Beds and Incense Slots can make use of the Dream Dust.
