Graveyard Keeper 2 Go or Stay: Which Ending Should You Choose?

In Graveyard Keeper 2, the final Go or Stay decision determines whether the Keeper leaves the current world or continues living in it after the main story ends. Both options conclude the main quest, but they affect how the player returns to the game afterward. This guide explains what each option means and how to choose between them.

When Can the Player Choose Go or Stay?

Graveyard Keeper 2 Go or Stay choice appears after the player completes the final battle, meets the other Keeper in the Palace, obtains the final Portal fragment, and installs it to restore the Portal.

Once the Portal activates, the characters make their wishes. The Keeper must then decide whether to return to the original world alongside the other Keeper or remain in the current world with the friends made throughout the adventure.

This is the final major decision in the main storyline after the Red Eye choice. Players who have not reached this sequence do not need to worry about choosing an ending yet.

What Happens If the Player Chooses Go?

Choosing Go means the Keeper returns to the original world and reunites with the other Keeper to become whole again. The game proceeds to the credits before returning to the main menu.

This option suits players who want to conclude the adventure and see the Keeper’s departure. However, choosing Go does not provide a normal continuation into post-game play.

The game does not create a new save at this point. Since saving is tied to sleeping, loading the previous save returns the player to the last saved point before the ending sequence. Any progress made after that save is lost.

Players who want to see the Go ending should therefore sleep and save before the last battle. This provides a recent checkpoint to return to if they decide to continue playing afterward.

What Happens If the Player Chooses Stay?

Choosing Stay means the Keeper remains in the current world instead of returning through the Portal. The other characters leave, the credits roll, and the player can continue the existing game afterward.

The main quests remain completed, so the player does not need to repeat the final battle or restart the story. Instead, the game allows continued access to the world and its remaining activities.

This option is particularly useful for players who still want to restore buildings, expand the graveyard, automate production in the Factory, complete optional tasks, or work toward unfinished goals.

No major story outcome depends on this choice. Both options follow the same final sequence, and the decision does not change the main quests that the player has already completed.

In both options, the player will see the Old God snicker and the Red Eye flashes. In the staying option, the Old God has the line indicating that he has another plan coming, which could be related to a following DLC or expansion.
