Graveyard Keeper 2 Town Orders: How to Unlock & Automate Supplies
Town Orders become one of the most useful mid-game systems in Graveyard Keeper 2. Instead of relying mainly on quests and combat to increase Town Gratitude, the player can establish a repeatable production system. For players who already have a growing zombie workforce, Town Orders provide a natural next step: let zombies produce the town’s basic supplies. This guide explains how the player can make these changes!

Quests Required to Start Town Orders in Graveyard Keeper 2
Graveyard Keeper 2 Town Orders become available through Jack’s questline after the player reaches the Port and gains access to the Town Warehouse.
- The first important step is completing Docked and Found, which opens access to the Port and allows the player to continue Jack’s story.
- Jack then starts Workshop Hours, which introduces the Town Order system.
- The first order is a Supply: Iron request, and the player must complete it before Jack’s later progression and additional renewable orders become available.
The first Supply: Iron order also acts as an introduction to the idea behind Town Orders. The player does not simply deliver raw Iron Ingots. Instead, the player must make the one called “Supply: ???” (such as “Supply: Iron”), the one wrapped up in a crate, as requested by the order.
It is highly recommended for the player to continue Jack’s storyline until finishing the combat “Market Square Purge” and clearing the zombies around his workshop. Jack will then unlock the Conveyors tech and allow the player to start building a complete zombie automation system in the Underground Factory. This step is crucial because zombies can craft not only basic materials, but also materials required for further town repair and Town Orders (which the game has designed so that the player cannot make them without zombies).

Time and Location to Accept and Submit Town Orders
Time for Taking and Submitting the Orders
Town Orders follow a weekly schedule. The player can accept new orders on Pride Day, represented by the purple sun symbol on the weekly calendar.
Up to two orders can be held at the same time, and the player cannot change the taken orders outside of Pride Day, so the player should choose orders that match the materials and production systems already available.
Once an order is accepted, the player can produce and deliver its Supply Boxes anytime, unless the order is urgent and the player has to deliver it before the next Pride Day to get the reward.
Location for Submission (This Has Confused Many Players)
The boxes go to the basement of the Town Warehouse rather than directly to the trader or order board. The player needs to go down the ladder next to the crate to enter the basement.
Mind that if the player has taken two of the same order, for example, two vegetable supply orders, the submission will fill up the order from the left first.
Generally speaking, the reward is rather substantial. If the player can finish two orders that week, it is highly likely that the player will have enough Town Gratitude to hold a Church Sermon later.

How to Craft Supplies for Town Orders: Zombie Automation
The game mechanism encourages the player to start building up the underground zombie factory to complete the Town Orders.
- The first Iron supply is unusual because the player can produce it manually. The recipe uses 6 Iron Ingots, 4 Boards, and 8 Bronze Nails, and the player can craft the box at the appropriate woodworking station.
- Most of the other Town supplies work differently. Once the player restores Jack’s Workhouse and moves into larger production chains, the Factory becomes the intended production solution. The player supplies the Factory with the required raw materials and production inputs, while zombies operate the relevant production stations.
That distinction becomes increasingly important as orders require larger quantities. Crafting ten Supply Boxes is more feasible with a properly configured Factory, which can continue producing them in the background.

Setting Up Zombie Automation for Town Supplies: Take Vegetable Supplies as an Example
Vegetable Supplies provide a good example of how the system works.
These orders request ten boxes and can provide a substantial amount of Town Gratitude, making them a useful early target for an automated supply system. Moreover, it is more or less a separate system that builds on vegetables, compared to the more complicated and extended system building on coal, iron, wood, and others.
The basic automation process works like this:
Farm → Lifting Crane → Factory → Town Warehouse
Example: Vegetable Supplies
- First, the player needs a reliable supply of vegetables. This is where the earlier farming and zombie gardening systems become useful. One zombie is enough to handle the repetitive work of planting and harvesting crops, leaving the player with a steady supply of vegetables.
- Second, transport the garden produce to the Factory using a Lifting Crane. By ticking the vegetables needed for the Factory at the Crane, the gardening zombie automatically delivers the harvest to the Crane.
- Third, clear up the debris and fix the broken gears around the Garden Storage area. Or the game does not allow the player to build anything at all.
- Fourth, build up the Kitchen and the Assembly Bench. Assembly Bench produces the Crates, and the Kitchen puts the Crates and vegetables together to produce Supply: Vegetables.
- Fifth, connect the Garden Storage and the Assembly Bench output to the Kitchen using Conveyors and Conveyor Chests. (Note that small items must go through Conveyor Chests first before being sent to the input. Large items like Wood go into the input directly.)
- Sixth, restore any Zombie Carousel, and place zombies on top. This provides motion to the Conveyors. The more Conveyors the player builds, the more number of zombies are required to provide motion.
- Seventh, collect the Supply: Vegetables by connecting a Supply Station to the Kitchen output.
- Eighth, build a Zombie Supply Porter next to the Supply Station, and some Supply Pallets nearby. Then, the zombie at the Porter will deliver the Supply at the Supply Station to the Pallets.
Here is a screenshot demonstrating how to set up a basic vegetable supply system. There are some details about how Conveyors and Conveyor Chests work.

From Quests and Combat to Stable Town Gratitude
Early in the game, Town Gratitude often comes from quests, combat, and trading. However, the game starts to overwhelm the player with more and more things to craft and produce. Eventually, taking the effort to build the automation system becomes more worthwhile than handcrafting everything.
The ideal point to start building toward Factory automation is when the player has roughly 10 to 20 zombies. At that stage, the player has enough workers to dedicate several zombies to the Factory, and to move around some other zombies for resource gathering and combat.
And honestly speaking, building up the automation for vegetable supplies is the best start. It is not overly complicated, yet it basically teaches the player all the things they need to know about how to build up other automation systems as well.
