Sultan’s Game Godslaying Ending: Fight Side by Side with the Sultan!
Sultan’s Game godslaying ending, also called the regicide ending, is the most difficult ending to achieve in the game. It requires players to redeem the Glimpse of God in Fate’s Ledger to enable the path to this ending, which means that players must play the game for some considerable time to earn the points. However, like the dragonslaying ending, the godslaying is unique and stands out from the normal rebellion or escape ending. Especially in this ending, players can explore more stories about the divine beings in Sultan’s Game and fight side by side with the Sultan, instead of fighting against him. While there are multiple routes to achieve this ending, this post explains the purist god route and tries to provide the simplest way to reach the end!

Purchase the Glimpse of God First!
To enable Sultan’s Game godslaying ending, players must redeem the Glimpse of God in Fate’s Ledger first, using 40 points. Without the Glimpse of God, the godslaying setup and plots will not appear in the game.
Players basically need to play through the game multiple times to collect 40 points through unlocking the achievements. Depending on which achievment is unlocked, the game will give players different amounts of points to redeem help and support in Fate’s Ledger.
Additionally, some other things from Fate’s Ledger can help players get through the godslaying ending as well:
- The Final Fair-Weather Friend: Hassan can write poems for followers to read to increase their attributes.
- The Magician’s Boon: Allow more changing of the Sultan’s cards and make it easier to get the card players want.
- Secret Twins: Get another Arzu so that players have more Arzu for the events that are exclusively for Arzu to attend.
Because Sultan’s Game godslaying ending requires more events and followers’ storylines to be finished, players can load up more help from Fate’s Ledger, too, to make the game easier.

Understand the Main Missions Leading to the Ending
Sultan’s Game godslaying ending requires players to multitask and make different preparations at the same time. Some characters’ storylines can help with the final battles, but this post will focus on the simpliest route to reach the end.
There are mainly four sections that players need to push through:
- Upgrade the Bonum in se: Bonum in se – The Voice from Above – Immaculate Purity – The Destroyer
- Upgrade the Pure Thoughts: Pure Thoughts – Divine Touch – Pledge of Atonement – As Above, So Below
- Gather Followers and Prepare Them: Lumera (Become the Star-Souled), Mahir (As a Follower), Iman (Do not Kill Him or Side with Badriyyah’s Cult), A Troop / Street Urchins (Finish Alim’s storyline and feed the homeless children), A Follower with Passions
- Gather as many aether from the purist church as possible (approximately 19 in total), and try not to leave any aethers to the church.
- Keep One Sultan’s Card from Each Kind: Bloodshed, Conquest, Carnality, Extravagance.
There are three stages that players need to go through before reaching the end:
- Finish upgrading Bonum in se and the Pure Thoughts
- Become the chosen one and build the god’s tower
- Meet the god and defy the god
In the first stage, it’d be better for players to keep clear of the cult and Badriyyah’s events because these events may prevent players from progressing the purist god route.

How to Upgrade the Pure Thoughts?
Players can obtain the Pure Thoughts after finishing the event Seek Help from the Church. Maggie will ask Arzu to seek help from the church in a pop-up window after proceeding in the game for a while. Arzu or Maggie need to attend the event and Iman will give Arzu the Pure Thoughts card.
After that, there are some daily events that players need to do to collect the piety points to upgrade the Pure Thoughts:
- Day of Charity: Requires 5 coins
- Ritual Assistant: Requires 3 followers with more than 5 charisma
- Idol Parade: Requires 3 followers with more than 5 physique
- Knowledge Organization: Requires 3 followers with more than 5 wisdom
- Recruit Believers: Requires 3 followers with more than 5 sociability
- Confession: 1 follower (or special items like Breath of the Ancients) and 3 coins
These activities will give either the Pure Thoughts card or one of the followers 1 piety point.
Players need to drag the Pure Thoughts card to Methinks to trigger the Examination. Putting the followers with piety points in the event will add his/her piety to the card. Once there are three piety points, the Examination will upgrade the card to the next level.
The upgrading of the Pure Thoughts should be done at the same time as the Bonum in se is upgraded in the Mind Battle, because the main use of the Pure Thoughts is to provide bonding with the Bonum in se (the good).

How to Upgrade Bonum in se?
In a word, Bonum in se is upgraded through the Mind Battle which will be triggered with the increasing Insight.
How to increase Insight: Some pop-up incidents and events can increase the Insight. However, the most certain way of increasing it is through the cards generated by the Observatory every 7 days. Players need to finish Mahir’s first research successfully to obtain the Mirror of Stars to acquire the Observatory. Then, choose to Open Insight to increase the Insight (Not all the cards from the Observatory can open Insight).
Every Mind Battle has different requirements for Arzu’s attributes and the followers who can attend the event. To make things easier, here is a viable route to upgrade the Bonum in se all the way to the final level – The Destroyer (Mind that this route for the purist god will focus on the Bonum in se only, leaving out the Malum in se):

Before the Immaculate Deity Level
- Mind Battle 1: Put in Maggie
- Mind Battle 2: Put in Lumera
- Mind Battle (Until Bonum in se becomes the Immaculate Deity): Keep putting in the Pure Thoughts as the belief and its upgraded version.
It’d be best to keep putting in the Pure Thoughts and its upgraded version (Divine Touch, Pledge of Atonement, and As Above, So Below) into the belief slot, because this guarantees the bonding with the Bonum in se.
After the Immaculate Deity Level
After Bonum in se turns into the Immaculate Deity, players need to accumulate 3 doubts for the Immaculate Deity in the following Mind Battle.
In short, the rationality and Mahir can accumulate doubt points for the Immaculate Deity.
- How to get rationality cards: Use the Observatory to generate intelligence cards. Drag the cards to Methinks and choose Conduct Research. Select two followers with wisdom higher than 5 to attend the event. The end of the event will generate the rationality card.
2. How to get Mahir as a follower: In brief, finish assisting Mahir in conducting her research twice, and Mahir will become a follower.
Without Mahir, players can still accumulate doubts using the rationality card. Yet, Mahir is very helpful for the later end battle.

Complete the Divine Seal and Build the Tower
The Divine Seal 20 days countdown starts after the Bonum in se is upgraded to the Immaculate Deity. Therefore, in 20 days, Arzu needs to finish a series of events to gain admission to build the god’s tower and to finish building it:
Permissions to Build the Tower
- Interpreting the Divine Will (Condition: Iman is alive): Choose “No, you must not die” in the pop-up option.
- Audience with the Sultan: Requires at least 10 magic with Arzu and another non-cultish follower, and 20 coins.
Build the Tower
After obtaining the permission from both the purist church and the Sultan, Arzu may start building the tower for the god. At this point, players need to have one bloodshed card, one extravagance card, one conquest card, and one carnality card.
The result of every stage of the tower building yields a sin card that will be automatically added to the Divine Seal event.
- Pillar: A sacrifice (a troop or the street urchins), a bloodshed card, 15 coins, one follower (physique≥5, sociability≥5), one follower (wisdom≥8), one follower (wisdom≥5, stealth≥5) ➡️ Blood of the Innocent and 5 more patience card for Divine Seal
- Guilded: An extravagance card, a warrior to climb the tower, and 15 coins. ➡️ Sin: Pride and 3 more patience cards for Divine Seal
- Ignition Material: A conquest card.
- Trial by Fire: The purist will find a random sacrifice to be burnt. ➡️ Sin: Strife
- Final Temptation: A carnality card, Arzu, one follower who has passion points with Arzu (or Iman) ➡️Sin: Lust
The end of this series of events will give players the card of The Tower of Revelation. Putting The Tower of Revelation into the Divine Seal will open the path to the final ending and lead players to a new map.
Mind that before going to the ending map, players should prepare The Destroyer (which is the level 4 Bonum in se card). Players need to have all the followers, equipment, and intelligence card ready for the final battle as well.

The God Is Descending. Defy The God!
The first event of Sultan’s Game godslaying ending is Ritual of Revelation. Players must have the level 4 Bonum in se (The Destroyer) to proceed. Players can put in Arzu, the Sultan (Yes, if Arzu did not steal his ring), and all the other followers for extra 1 point on physique, wisdom, and charisma.
Then, choose “Defy the God” at the end of the Ritual of Revelation.
As a result, the Sultan and Badriyyah will both join Arzu’s team as the followers after revealing the true nature of the purist god.
Defy the God!
The following battles are shown below:
- Eye of the World: 1 leader(The Sultan / Highlord of the Highlands / charisma + wisdom ≥ 8); 1 follower (magic + wisdom ≥ 8); 1 follower (survival + charisma ≥ 8); 1 follower (wisdom + sociability ≥ 8) *The Star-Souled can skip all the check here.
- The Great Hunt: 3 followers (physique + magic + combat ≥ 10) * The follower without the troop will be wounded and cannot join the later fights. *The Creeping Rot can skip all the checks here (level 3 Malum in se)
- The Path of the Dagger: 1 follower (magic + wisdom ≥ 7), 1 follower (magic + physique ≥ 7), 1 follower (physique + combat ≥ 10), 1 follower (combat + magic ≥ 7) *Badriyyah as the observer can skip all the checks.
- Sky Fire: 4 followers (magic + physique ≥ 6, total magic points ≥ 40) * Place Iman / Crystal Spine in to skip all the checks (without the passion points with Arzu, Iman will die).
- Reborn God: Arzu (physique + combat + magic ≥ 5) * The Sultan, Arzu, and the Highlord of the Highlands are the only characters who can join the final battle.
The completion of this series of battles will lead to the Regicide ending (Sultan’s Game godslaying ending).

(Optional) How to Steal the Aethers from the Church?
Stealing all the aethers from the purist church is an optional step, as it wil not stop players from reaching the ending but the checks of the final battles will be more difficult. The number of aethers left to the church will deduct the players’ points in the check, but if players have high enough points, it does not matter if they steal the aethers or not.
There are two ways of reducing the church’s aethers:
- Sacred Blood Theft: After recruiting Mahir, drag her to Methinks to start the research. Mahir will open the event of stealing the aether from the church. Send 5 followers to pass 3 rounds of checks: survival & physique ≥ 3, physique & combat ≥ 5, stealth & wisdom ≥ 5, sociability & charisma ≥ 3.
- The Privilege of the Church Leader: After becoming the church leader (having the level-3 Bonum in se – Immaculate Deity), players can send followers to this event to get one aether at a time.
Note that sending Badriyyah to either of the two events will contaminate all the aethers in one go. Players who still need aethers for the research should avoid putting Badriyyah in the slot. However, this is a very efficient way to destroy all the aethers.
If there is no aether left for the church anymore, the even text will tell players directly that there is no aether left.
What Is Sultan’s Game Godslaying Final Ending?
The final success of slaying the Destroyer (the purists’ god) will lead to the Regicide ending. In this ending, both the Sultan and the magician perish in the final fight, together with the Destroyer and all the Sultan’s cards. The end of the game has witnessed the destruction of the blind belief, the destroyer god, the sinful cards, the Sultan, and the magician. As the developer’s comments say in the end, this is one of the best endings of Sultan’s Game.
In Sultan’s Game godslaying route, players can enjoy the twist of the plots, and have a chance to fight side by side with the Sultan, instead of fighting against him. The purist god turns out to be the destroyer who despises the flaws of human beings, with the heart of purifying all the uncleaness of humankind. The Sultan turns out to be a great fighter, although not a great ruler. The godslaying route offers the religious story and a more complicated character relationship that other endings do not have.
However, there are also some drawbacks to this ending. As explained previously, this is one of the most difficult endings to achieve in Sultan’s Game. Yet, there is almost no after-story for Sultan’s Game godslaying ending. The game does not offer a detailed after-story for each character like in the rebellion, escape, or the dragonslaying ending, which is a bit of a disappointment.

Conclusion: Sultan’s Game Godslaying Route
Sultan’s Game godslaying route is a more complicated and difficult ending offered to the players as an end-game challenge. Players can only unlock it after earning 40 points through completing achievements in the game and purchasing the Glimpse of God. As a special ending, it enriches the religious story of Sultan’s Game, and connects more story plots together to serve the religious plot.
In this ending, Arzu questions and challenges the god using his rationality, reflections, and the fights, committing a greater sin, but also a greater achievement, compared to the dragonslaying. It complicates and enriches the theme and the worldview of Sultan’s Game, and is definitely worths the time and effort investing in it.
