Where to Find Shards in Fields of Mistria

There are two main ways to figure out where shards are in Fields of Mistria: digging at Dig Spots and purchasing them from Balor’s Wagon.

1. Dig at Dig Spots: The easiest way to get Shards without spending Tesserae is to search for Dig Spots throughout the world. Dig Spots are recognizable by the small circular markings on the ground. When you find one, you can use either your Shovel or Pickaxe to dig it up. Shards have a chance of appearing as one of the rewards.
2. Buy Shards From Balor’s Wagon: If you don’t want to wait for a Shard to appear while digging, you can also purchase one from Balor’s Wagon. Its inventory changes regularly, so Shards won’t necessarily be available every day. It’s worth checking the wagon whenever you pass by, especially if you’re looking for less common crafting materials.
3. Item Spawning Mod: This is a cheat, but a very convenient one… If you are in need of shards but do not want to go through lengthy time and trouble to look for it, you can use the item spawning mod to spawn it directly into your inventory, and choose how many of it you want.

What Are Shards Used For

Shards have several uses, so you shouldn’t automatically sell every one you find.

1. Give Shards to Landen: One of the easiest ways to make use of extra Shards is by giving them to Landen. Landen likes Shards, making them a convenient gift if you’re trying to increase your relationship with him.
2. Complete Quests: Certain quests also require shards. Quests are one of the main ways for new players to earn Tessarae, so keeping shards for quests is a more profitable move.
